Understanding the
Role and Limitations of IEBDAMS

Legal and Scope of Practice Disclaimer

The International Education Board – Division of Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery (IEBDAMS) offers internationally focused training, fellowship, and certification programs aimed at professional development and skill enhancement in the field of aesthetic medicine.
Please note that the legal scope of practice for aesthetic procedures varies significantly across countries and jurisdictions, and is often determined by national healthcare laws, professional licensing boards, and regulatory authorities.
In some jurisdictions, for example, dentists may be permitted to perform certain non-surgical aesthetic procedures, particularly those limited to the perioral and lower facial regions (e.g., lips, nasolabial folds, chin, and jawline). In other regions, restrictions may apply, and performing such procedures without specific authorization may be considered a legal or ethical violation.

Role and Limitations of IEBDAMS
*
IEBDAMS is an independent international educational and certifying body, not a government-recognized medical licensing authority.

* IEBDAMS does not provide clinical licensure, nor does its certification authorize or permit the practice of aesthetic medicine in any particular country.

* IEBDAMS-accredited courses are intended to enhance theoretical knowledge, clinical skill sets, and global professional recognition, but are not a substitute for local medical licensure or legal qualification.

* All students, academies, trainers, and affiliates are strongly advised to consult and comply with their respective national or local regulatory bodies, licensing councils, or health departments before performing or offering aesthetic procedures.

* Enrollment in an IEBDAMS-accredited course does not override legal or regulatory requirements set by any governmental or professional authority.

Important Notice to Students and Partner Academies
Before enrolling or conducting any training programs, all stakeholders must ensure that:
* The trainer is licensed and authorized to teach or perform aesthetic procedures within their jurisdiction.

* The students hold valid credentials and are legally permitted to practice or train in aesthetic medicine in their respective countries.

* All procedures are performed in accordance with local health, safety, and legal regulations.
